Thanks to the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM), senior caregivers and those who provide care for people with disabilities now have a new online source of educational information.
NAPGCM, through a partnership with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), are unveiling an interactive website that will provide online tools, information, and resources to help you make informed healthcare decisions. This user-friendly site offers a section that specifically deals with Medicare questions, as well as other areas that address financial concerns, caregiver health and wellness, and senior and disability care options.
Besides help with practical concerns, the “Ask Medicare” site will also provide a place for caregivers to connect. Caregivers can exchange stories and communicating on message boards, which can alleviate the loneliness and sense of isolation that many members of the “sandwich generation” often feel when providing care for a loved one.
According to NAPGCM Past President Linda Aufderhaar, “This truly is a one-stop site that will help lighten the burden on caregivers…. This Web site will help put caregivers in touch with the experts and organizations that can help them address a myriad of challenges and concerns.”
